The marshes in Maine are magical places for peace, tranquility and personal reflection. Life feels so precious and the world seems so big when you are sitting amongst the grasses. There is a safety in feeling hidden and anonymous.

I used a palette knife to create the grass and pastel to define various plant life. I love to use extra-saturated vivid color as this is how I remember all the places I go. (Please click the images to show them larger)
