The Jets were excited for their girls’ weekend on Martha’s Vineyard…they worked so hard at their jobs bartending in New York City and they were ready to sit on the beach and watch the waves. They also looked forward to people-watching, fruity cocktails, and bonfires at night on the beach. There’s nothing like the salty sea air of the coast!

ARTIST STATEMENT
“The Uncaged” is a collection of original contemporary abstract paintings featuring realistic bird renderings to illustrate the concept of the “un-caging” of women. They may be oppressed or abused for part of their lives; later to break free to go on and flourish— to be their authentic selves.They are full of personality and color…truly unique. I think about how women couldn’t even have their own lines of credit until the mid-seventies...I realize so many must have felt trapped as they stuffed themselves into a figurative box to please a spouse or others. These works are a tribute to those powerful inner spirits and personalities that won’t be caged again!
